Hi everyone! Feeling a bit lost!
So, I want to get into concept art & 3D modeling however, when researching I find alot of it to be contradictive and overlapping eachother leaving me extremely confused as to what companies look for in your skills, portfolio etc etc.
I work hardcore all week 8-5 purely on improving my drawing skills and working with digital software so my skills meet what is required but i dont want to miss anything else out!
I was about to start creative writing today but im unsure whether i need it or not. It said on a few websites that you need this for doing concept art but other websites doesnt even come under the bullet points. I would of thought creative writing would be more for y'know, being a writer/developer? I dont want to waste time doing modules and projects that isnt anything to do with the area i want to work in and missing out important bits! I have no issue though with doing creative writing just want to make sure im on the right track.
If someone could please list the skills i need and what sort of thing the company would be looking for in a portfolio that would be awesome! :) oh, and useful websites and all that kinda stuff. I didnt graduate secondary school (high school) but i did do art and design in college and just scraped passes on most modules when i was predicted distinctions and told by my teachers throughout the semeseter i had talent- i rarely went in and was a bit of a reckless teen at the time.. would this matter? Do you really need grades or does it not matter aslong as you have your skills and smarts in line, even if you are self taught? Im not building portfolio just yet but asking for future reference.
hope this posts! my introduction hasnt posted and i tried to post it twice.
Thankyou in advance! :)
