Texturing Program/Plugin

Hey guys, I was wondering if there is any program or plugin that artists use to apply custom textures to the models like quixel does. I am not sure if you know what I mean...

Something like you select the maps (Diffuse, Normal, Specular, Gloss) and when you paint the texture in the texture sheet or directly into the 3D model it adds the right maps to their slot (this would be the specular, the gloss and the normal)

Hi, my name is Michael Hui and I'm from Toronto, Ontario, Canada. I have a well-rounded expertise in creating 2D art (pixel art, graphic design/UI, concept art, illustrations, textures) and 3D models (low-poly), with a particular interest in sci-fi or fantasy themes.

Recently I have completed a contract over the summer (4 months) as pixel artist for a 2D fantasy RPG for the Android based on the classic Legend of Zelda game. Currently it is featured on Epocu here:

Handpainted Weapon

Hey guys, so this time I decided to give it a try to Maya and handpainted texture and this is what I have by now:



My toughts about maya:

It is a very powerfull and complete tool, as far as I have used this software I have to say I do love the way it works and I do recommend any Max user to give this one a try as I did :)

Also, as this is the first time doing handpainted texture I would love some tips and feedback about what I have so far. Also some tutorials would be great, I am having a hard time with textils/fabrics :/

My name is Tom Klovholt, I'm a 35 years old 2D game artist from Norway.
I've been working as an freelancer for 4 years, but recently got a part-time job, and is now looking for interesting projects to work on for profit-share. The main reason for this, is that I'm just tired of working on projects that doesn't interest me (games I have no interest in playing myself), and the other reason is ownership of my graphics (I don't like selling the rights to my work). So here what I'm looking for:

- Only interested in strategy or sim games (unless you has something truly original).
- Only 2D games.
- I need more that an awesome idea, I need to see a working prototype (that way I won't wast time on idea-guys).
- I'm the art director (I make the final decision on the visuals, but I'm open for constructive feedback and suggestions).
- I'm looking for small to medium projects (max 6-8 months).
- I'm not working for anything less than 30% (working with 1 programmer would be ideal, or a very small team).

UDK Light maps look awful

Well I must be doing something wrong cause my shadows look like pooo

I only am worried about how the giant tube and and the platform/poles it's sitting on are baking





I've baked with as high of a res as 512. Is this something in my settings? Is it my uvs? My shadows are blotchy and fugly. One mesh has packed uvs while the other has plenty of padding. Both result in bad shadows. HELP!

Hi. I'm Mike a minecraft mod developer. I have made a couple mods here and there, Done the art myself and to be honest I suck at 16x16 pixel thingy's. The last mod I made was a gun mod. I spent like 45 minutes on it and after I made the textures using gimp and it just sucked. And it was so bad the gun was facing the player. I kinda just gave up with the art thing. And I was wandering if anyone wanted to join me! Maybe even later if we get good enough can start up making our own mod packs!
